Scottish Myths & Legends, Daniel’s book of traditional Scottish stories, is one of the UK’s bestselling books on Scottish folklore. Daniel is also the author of The Shattering Sea, the first chapter in an epic fantasy series set in Prehistoric Scotland and rooted in both Scottish & Scandinavian myth. His collection of Celtic legends, Finn & the Fianna, a retelling of the Finn MacCoull cycle of Celtic tales, was published by The History Press in February 2020.

Daniel is the founder of The Roundhouse, a world-first online school for oral storytellers. He coaches storytellers worldwide through The Roundhouse and through his Myth Singers apprenticeship programme.

Daniel has travelled and lived all over the world, from the jungles of Peru and Uganda to the mountains of Nepal and deserts of Mexico. He has told stories in caves and forests, in a hut in the Amazon and on a hilltop in the Hebrides, in Thai villages, Irish pubs, Indian theatres and at festivals in Turkey, UAE, USA, Portugal, Singapore and Scotland. His performances weave together stories from indigenous cultures with Celtic legends, Norse myths and music played on didgeridoo, singing bowls and percussion.
