Lea Taylor

Book Lea Taylor

Storyteller/Writer/Playwright/Development Worker:

Lea’s inputs are always fun, imaginative, energetic, engaging, often participatory but never, never, dull.

When she was young, her school reports always said ‘talks too much’, but little did they know it was a taste of things to come.

Lea loved words right from the outset – powerful, magical, curious things to be played, explored and experimented with, taken for a spin on page or tongue.’

Lea has been a freelance storyteller for over fifteen years and often works collaboratively with all manner of artists ranging from dancers, musicians, artists and she positively relishes a challenge. A recipient of Creative Arts Scotland, Tasgadh and Centenary Vote 100 funding, Lea has taken her work far and wide across Scotland and beyond.

Lea brings a wealth of skills to any session, workshop, project or performance. Her background is in Community Education, specialising in literacy (especially parental engagement through literacy and storytelling). These skills are transferable to most environments. Lea has a working knowledge of planning and evaluating projects and has great organisational skills.

Lea is based in Midlothian but is happy to travel.  She is happy to work with all ages and stages. Specialises in children and family work (very participatory) and a specialist in Reminiscence work. Extensive experience with residencies, projects and workshops.
