A warm and engaging storyteller, “who brings richness and depth to the stories she tells”, Wendy creates nurturing environments in which to share her stories. She tells stories of wonder, journeys, fairies, magic, healing and love; all from the heart.

Her group work centres around the therapeutic values of the tales to support development of emotional literacy as well as providing a safe space for people to process a range of feelings and experiences through the metaphor of story. She’s worked with young carers, care experienced young people, women in refuge and adults and children with learning and physical disabilities. She created and devised Out of Harm, a project that explores self-harm and provides a Toolkit to support those struggling with this issue.

Wendy facilitates workshops on many topics; for those starting out in storytelling to those looking to deepen their practice and confidence, and sessions to explore and develop understanding of the therapeutic value within the stories.

Wendy is a trauma informed practitioner with over a decade of experience working with vulnerable children and adults using storytelling as a therapeutic tool. She is trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, COSCA Counselling Skills, ASIST, SafeTalk suicide prevention and facilitates Child Protection courses. She currently works for a social care charity coordinating a mentoring service for vulnerable children and young people. In June 2010 as Producer of Stories for Health, Wendy planned and coordinated the first Scottish International Symposium on Storytelling as a Healing Art.
