Book Dolina Wallace
Dolina Wallace sees collecting stories as a way of life.
Fairy tales, true stories, and tales of legends and myths, as well as short stories of childhood and life experience are all part of her repertoire. She tells in Gaelic, English and, for her ‘ferming’ tales, in Scots. Supernatural stories are Dolina’s forte when telling to adults, but she uses a lot of her own tales when telling to children, especially tales of the wee folk.
She has worked extensively in TV and radio. Born and brought up in the Isle of Harris, Dolina has always been fascinated by stories. She is the mother of two lads and has 8 grandchildren who are her best critics, telling her if they find anything wrong to send her back to the drawing board! Dolina has worked all over Scotland. She has told stories in house ceilidhs, barns, sitting on walls and hillsides.
Based in Perthshire now, she has taken part in the Auchtermuchty Festival, Feis Spey and Tales at Martinmas and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
