Announced: Semi-finalists of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award 2021

The semi-finalists of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award 2021 have been announced. Congratulations to them all. The young musicians hail from all over Scotland and showcase the amazing amount of talent living in Scotland today. The finalists are:
– Bradley Parker, 23, County Down (Bagpipes)
– Chris Gray, 24, Lockerbie (Piano, Whistle, Bagpipes)
– Elisabeth Flett, 24, Tayport (Viola, fiddle, voice)
– Ellie Beaton, 18, Aberdeenshire (Voice)
– Graham Rorie, 24, Orkney (Fiddle)
– Iona Fyfe, Huntly (Voice)
– John Dew, 23, Crieff (Bagpipes)
– Lucie Hendry, 25, Aberdeenshire (Lever Harp)
– Michael Biggins, 23, Newcastle (Piano)
– Rebecca Hill, 24, Oban (Lever Harp)
– Steaphanaidh Chambeul, 25, Skye (Voice + Harp)
– Tiernan Courell, 23, Sligo (Flute)
The semi-finals weekend will be held in BBC Scotland on the 2-3rd October. From this concert 6 musicians are chosen to go through to the Finals in January 2021.
This is the twenty first year of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician. Ali Levack from Dingwall won the award in January 2020.
