Part of the Ashkenazi Jewish tradition, klezmer is the irresistible and compelling music traditionally played at Jewish weddings and other ceremonies in Eastern Europe leading up to the Second World War.

Phil and Gica will introduce simple tunes, the modes, ornamentation, arrangements and accompaniment, and some insight into the dance steps to go with this soulful happy/sad music.

Suitable for instruments in the key of C or Bb. You should be a competent player of at least two or three years experience and able to learn and play by ear. (Sheet music or online links to music will be available).
