NTS Starter Programme, Funded Residency for Performing Artists

The National Theatre of Scotland Starter Programme is an initative designed to seed ideas through the offer of eight artist residencies that come with a budget of £2,500, in-kind space and equipment, access to technical advice and producing support from the Artistic Development department.

This opportunity is open to artists across all performance backgrounds (including theatre, music, sound, movement, film, storytelling, spoken word etc), who wish to explore a new or existing bold and vital performance idea that moves forward their practice and career.

NTS aims to select a cohort who will reflect Scotland’s geographic, linguistic and cultural diversity, with a specific focus on the Company’s prioriy under-represented groups: Gaelic, Black, Asian and MInority Ethnic and Disability.

Selected artists will have the option to work from their own location, or to join the NTS at Rockvilla, the Company’s new facility in Glasgow.
