Book Colin McEwan
Colin’s community arts work began when he joined a Theatre-In-Education company, in the roles of both performer and administrator, delivering issue based work to primary schools in Glasgow. This led to the running and marketing of events for children, and a Diploma in Community Arts at Strathclyde University.
Having sung and told stories to his children at home and then in nursery, he toured Scotland on the The Scottish Readiscovery Book Bus as Driver/Manager, running on-board story and poetry sessions. Through this he developed his interest in storytelling.
His work in schools has covered primary, secondary, and special needs, with the emphasis being on inclusivity, drawing in everyone, in particular keeping the disengaged engaged.
Music has always played a significant part in Colin’s work, using songs in sessions plus using collaborative song writing as a means of exploring, reflecting on and transforming experiences
In addition he has successfully used storytelling in delivering sales training, looking at how to engage with and present clearly to customers.
