Noel Cochrane

Book Noel Cochrane

Noel tells a variety of stories including the tales of Leith, where he grew up during the war years, family tales, the stories of Bill Naughton, and stories which stimulate creative writing.

He enjoys telling stories to upper primary and secondary school, and adults. Noel was raised in a strongly Irish Catholic environment in Edinburgh.

Surrounded by his extended family, the spoken word was an integral part of his upbringing. He was first attracted to storytelling after hearing Betsy Whyte and other storytellers, prompting him to develop his own storytelling activities. As a researcher and storyteller, Noel contributes to the Scottish Storytelling Centre’s Story Tours project which introduces primary children to their own local area through the medium of stories.  He has also told stories at the Scottish International Storytelling Festival and the Guid Crack Club.
