For those who didn’t catch Anne, George & Bobby last year at the Royal Oak during the Edinburgh Festival, you can look forward to a mix of songs both funny and serious, including some new material which Anne has been keeping under wraps and some songs you may not have heard before from George, plus of course some great fiddle tunes from Bobby.
Anne is well known to club members already as a regular ‘floorspotter’, but for those unfamiliar with the other two, George Machray is building a great reputation as a singer/songwriter and has become a real favourite at the monthly ‘Ma Brow’s’ session in Balerno. His lyrics paint wonderful pictures and his funny songs will have you rolling in the aisles (even in the Isles if he sings loudly enough!). He has won many prizes, including funniest song just recently at the annual Glenfarg Folk Club Songwriting Competition. Bobby Hogg is a very fine fiddler who just gets better and better and is a regular on the Edinburgh folk music session scene. Accompanied by George on guitar he will soon have you tapping your feet to some wonderful tunes.
