Blazin' in Beauly

Blazin' in Beauly

Since 2001, Blazin’ Fiddles have hosted a wonderful week of tuition, concerts, ceilidhs and craic, welcoming thousands of folk to the little town of Beauly in the Highlands of Scotland.

A short drive from Inverness, Beauly is a gem of a place, a truly welcoming town where everyone is part of the community. The classes take place all over the town; The Phipps Hall, Morison’s Iron Mongers, The Caley Hotel, The British Legion and of course the Lovat Hotel – Blazers head quarters for the week and also home to fiddles, guitar and piano classes, delivered by none other that team Blazin’ Fiddles and our fabulous guest tutors!

The Lovat Hotel is a great place for session and an afternoon cup of tea, or pint – whatever taker your fancy.
The local Deli on the Square is a high point of each day – delicious lunches! Not forgetting the legacy of Thursday Night in the Caley – yes, a massive session in the Caley Hotel – always a highlight.
Of course there are many more shops and food outlets that will keep you more than satisfied!

As each year approaches, us Blazers have to get writing… both tunes and scripts!
Each Monday night is ‘Variety Night’ the 6 of us get up on stage and generally make pretty big fools of ourselves in our sketch night! All sorts of topics, local and national have made it into the sketch night!
What will you see this year? Come and find out – it’s a hoot!
There will also be musical items so don’t fret – your toes will be tapping too!

Tune writing, slightly more our strong point has made it’s way in the week. In 2014, for the first time we each wrote a tune for auction, each tune being named by the winning bid – all proceeds go to making Blazin in Beauly even better!

Our new album due for release this year, has some of the auction tunes included and will be OFFICIALLY launched in style with you all this year!
