Mo Kenney & Snowgoose

Mo Kenney & Snowgoose

Mo Kenney never had that archetypal I-want-to-be-famous moment. But somehow she was always going to make albums, play live and get noticed in her native Canada and way beyond. Her brilliantly accomplished album In My Dreams was one of Canada’s most acclaimed records of 2014 and 2015 has seen her win four Nova Scotia Music Awards, plus ECMA’s Pop Recording of the Year for In My Dreams. Mo is already no stranger to international audiences and has played Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape and Green Man festivals in the UK, plus touring for six weeks with her good friend Rachel Sermanni.

Snowgoose make a welcome return to The Queen’s Hall and will be flying in full electric formation, showcasing songs from their new album The Making of You. It’s three years since the Glasgow based band last played here following the release of their debut albumHarmony Springs which was championed by BBC 6 Music’s Marc Riley and Edinburgh’s own Ian Rankin.

Lead singer Anna Sheard has drawn comparison with some of the finest female voices from the 60s/70s golden era of folk rock and The Making of You demonstrates the newly-minted songwriting partnership between her and Jim McCulloch. Snowgoose live are Anna Sheard (vocals), Jim McCulloch (guitar), Stuart Kidd (drums), Raymond McGinley (guitar), Stevie Jones (bass) and Chris Geddes (keyboards).
