Come and join in singing some less-well-known songs for midwinter from the Scots tradition, including rounds, Christmas carols, Hogmanay guisers’ songs, more recent songs, and poems set to music. This follows the popular Midwinter Magic workshops in the last two years and will be mostly new material.
Learning will be by ear in a friendly and relaxed group – no need to read music.
Tea and coffee available, bring a sandwich for lunch or go out to a local cafe if you prefer. A voice recorder is useful for remembering the songs.
Mary is a tutor with the Scots Music Group and loves collecting (and singing) traditional songs.
