Step Dance Workshop

Step Dance is a form of percussive dance, with origins in Scotland, which has had a strong tradition in Cape Breton where Scottish emigrant communities settled. Whether as part of social dance or solo performance, step dance is about retaining the close links between music and rhythm. Sophie and Màiri will be teaching strathspey, reel and jig steps to have you dancing in no time! Accompanied by live music and open to all ages and levels of experience.

This workshop is preceded by a Gaelic mouth music workshop (2pm) and followed by an acoustic concert with trad group Huradal (5.30pm), performing Gaelic song, music, step dance and spoken-word poetry from Scotland and the diaspora.

Tickets are available for each session separately at £10/£7c or on special offer of THREE TICKETS FOR THE PRICE OF TWO (£20/£14c) for both workshops and the concert combined when purchasing all tickets at the same time. Simply select tickets for all events and the discount will be automatically applied at the checkout.
