TDFS Regency Ball

This event follows on from a day of workshops exploring the origin of the dance:

An evening of Quadrilles & Contredanses (aka ‘Country Dances’) as they would have been danced in Scotland in the late 18th/early 19th centuries.

Napoleon may have lost the war but French dances conquered the world! Throughout the 19th century, the Quadrille was queen of all fashionable ballrooms.

We invite you to a Regency Ball in the Storytelling Court, accompanied by live music of the period from members of Concerto Caledonia.

Period dress encouraged but not required. Low-heeled shoes (e.g., brogues) or dance pumps recommended.

Workshop attendees are offered discounted entry to the Ball (£5), please call the Box Office (0131 556 9579) to purchase this offer.
