Funding opportunity for increasing access to the arts for disabled people and their families

Spirit of 2012 has launched its ‘Spirit of Achievement Arts and Culture Challenge Fund’:http://www.spiritof2012trust.org.uk/spirit-launches-challenge-fund

The open grant round is available for projects across the UK that create opportunities for disabled people of all backgrounds to participate in arts and cultural activities, individually and/or with their families and friends. It is open to arts and cultural activity projects in the broadest sense, including visual art, craft, writing and literature, music, dance and performance arts. Spirit uses the social model definition of disability, so includes those with learning disabilities, mental health problems and long term life-limiting conditions. Grants will be for organisations- they are unable to accept applications from individuals.

Grants will be for between £100,000 and £250,000 to be spent over 2 -3 years. Applications will be assessed by Spirit’s Achievement Panel, chaired by Paralympian Susie Rodgers and made up of figures from the world of arts, culture and sport. They welcome applications from partnerships, across sectors or countries.

More information on the opportunity is available here:  . The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 20 April.
