Julie is an Early Years practitioner with 20 years’ experience of working with the under –five age group. She delights in helping the children to create their own stories by delving into her story bag to find interesting objects to build their tales on.

Julie developed her storytelling bag idea, as part of her project for the contemporary storytelling certificate. She currently works in a local Edinburgh primary school nursery class, where her enthusiasm for storytelling is allowed to flourish. She organises storytelling sessions within the rest of the school to enhance literacy and self-confidence skills with the other primary children.

Julie’s stories are very interactive, giving the children the opportunity to participate in the telling of the story. She uses a variety of topics such as seasons, pirates and traditional tales adapted for the audience.

Julie is available during Edinburgh school holidays and weekends, and on Wednesday afternoons during term time.
