100 Favourite Ceilidh Dances, Book Launch

Join author and musician Andy Greig and Dr Fiona Watson, BBC historian, as they discuss his new book 100 Favourite Ceilidh Dances and the history of ceilidh dancing in the UK.

With a talk, a Q&A with the audience and a book signing; the evening will be brimming with Ceilidh music, stimulating conversation and knowledgeable personalities, with further musicians to be announced.

‘A ceilidh is a traditional Celtic gathering, where music and dance take place in an atmosphere lubricated by copious quantities of alcohol’, claims Greig in 100 Favourite Ceilidh Dances. The book explains how to become a ‘caller’ for a ceilidh; to pick the dances, the tunes and set the tone of an entire evening.
