Love drawing? Join the first SISF online art challenge and engage with the festival community in new ways, with the chance to win a book of Scottish folktales!
Everyone is encouraged to join the fun. All levels are welcome, and our challenge is open to all art illustration styles and techniques.
How to get on board?
Browse through our list of mythical prompts, and let your imagination run wild as we embark on a journey together through illustration in October.
The challenge kicks off on Saturday 17 October, the festival launch day, with the first prompt, ‘Port’!
Each day of the challenge will be focused around a dedicated prompt. We’ll post daily reminders so you know which illustration to post on your channel, tagging us via #SISFArtChallenge and #SISFWaterlines, on the right day. The challenge will end on Friday 30 October.

What’s the catch?
We’re teaming up with The History Press to offer three lucky winners of #SISFWaterlines the chance to pick a book of Scottish folktales from a specially curated selection that includes stories about the forests, beastly myths and legends, tales to inspire and plenty more. Winners will be announced on Sunday, 1 November. Take a look at the range of books our winners will be able to choose from.
