Freelance Marketing Role

SCOTTISH STORYTELLING CENTRE & SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL STORYTELLING FESTIVAL

Help deliver this year’s Fringe programme at SSC and support our Fringe participants, and venue team, through social media and web presence, working with the Programme and Festivals Manger. Then follow-on to assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and the venue team deliver this year’s hybrid Scottish International Storytelling Festival, with day-to-day tasks, from content creation and posting, to administrative tasks.  Six months worked flexibly at 20 hours per week, £16 per hour.

Requirements:

  • Min 2 years of experience working for an arts organisation or similar organisation
  • Festival marketing experience, creating marketing campaigns to promote the overall festival programme and objectives
  • Capacity for creative and strategic thinking, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with proven ability to work flexibly under pressure, to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Proven professional experience and knowledge of running social media channels for an organisation
  • Experience of providing a range of administrative and/or project support
  • Capacity for collaboration and teamwork
  • Experience working with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva or similar editing programmes
  • A flexible approach to work hours, including the occasional weekend, or evenings, especially during the peak festival period
  • Experience in content production i.e. photography and filming (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of the Scottish arts and society (Desirable)
