World Cultures Connect – Professional Exchange Edinburgh

Visiting Arts, supported by Creative Scotland are holding an international exchange workshop in Edinburgh during the Festivals period.  They have been working with artists and producers in Trinidad & Tobago, Ethiopia, Malawi and the Pacific Islands region, through creative skills workshops which support them to develop their business and start to establish more international connections and potential collaborations; the 12 participants from these workshops will be in Edinburgh in August, and involved in the exchange workshops.

It is geared towards mid-level career practitioners and producers based in Scotland, with more than five years professional experience.  The visiting practitioners are listed below.

 

Trinidad & Tobago

Mtima Solwazi, Cascadoo/Roots Foundation  – Spoken work/poetry

Damian Whiskey – Carnival artist

Patrice Briggs, Arts in Action – applied theatre & performance

 

Ethiopia

Mihret Kebede – Artist & poet, festival organiser

McArthur Matukuta, Solomonic Peacocks Theatre Company – Actor/Director
