Opportunity for young fiddlers at Scots Fiddle Festival
The Scots Fiddle Festival are looking for talented young fiddlers aged 12-18 to be part of an exciting project with a big performance at The Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh on the Saturday night at the Scots Fiddle Festival!
Participants will work with professional musicians to build repertoire, meet other young musicians, develop skills and gain confidence in arranging, learning by ear, working as a group, talking to audiences, learning to use microphones, as well as the experience of recording at a top Edinburgh recording studio and performing at one of Scotland’s biggest traditional music festivals.
All workshops and performances will take place in Edinburgh – participants may come from other parts of Scotland as long as they can make these. Auditions will be held on the 30th of August & 6th of September with workshops on 13th & 27th of September, 4th & 18th of October, 1st & 15th of November & performance on the 21st of November. There is no cost for participants to be involved in this project.
