Performers from four countries who have made Edinburgh their home will appear in two joint events at The Biscuit Factory and the Scottish Storytelling Centre as part of the twelve-day traditional arts showcase, TradFest. BE United have brought together artists and performers from Spain, Scotland, Senegal and South Africa in what promises to be a vibrant multicultural celebration.

BE United’s Sundown fiesta at the Biscuit Factory on Friday, April 28 will feature an eclectic line up of hip hop, Latino grooves, a capella and funk from Balvada (Senegal), James Brown in Annie (Scotland), Rumba Radges (Spain) and Morgan and the G’s (South Africa) and promises to be a great evening. Guests are encouraged to discover and enjoy a fabulous menu of dishes from several countries while enjoying performances of original music and dance. This true celebration of cultures and countries is open to all, so join the party.

BE United’s second event at the Scottish Storytelling Centre will once again unite these four countries in a free event from 11am to 4.30pm on May 6, also as part of TradFest.

The Scottish Storytelling Centre event aims to be informative with activities for the whole family including storytelling, comedy and fashions shows, ranging from an open access area in the Storytelling Court with stalls, crafts, face painting, stories, music and information throughout the day alongside free, sign up sessions from an Iberodocs film screening to an introductory Flamenco session alongside discovering Scottish cultural traditions or West African Dance.

4 Nations United is supported by Big Lottery’s Celebrate fund and serves to act as an opportunity to celebrate & showcase each country whilst encouraging greater understanding and trust between different cultures.
