Scotland’s Community Heritage Conference, Aberdeen, Sat 12 Nov
Scotland’s Community Heritage Conference, Aberdeen
Sat 12 Nov, 10 – 5pm
Aberdeen Town House, Union Street, AB10 1AQ
Scotland’s Community Heritage Conference showcases community-led projects across Scotland and supports people as they explore their connection to the past. The event is open to anyone with an interest in history, heritage or archaeology – thought no experience of this is necessary! – and includes excellent talks, interactive workshops, inspirational displays and stimulating networking opportunities.
Community volunteers’ talks are the core of this event, and we will feature lunchtime options such as an Aberdeen Women’s Heritage Trail mini-walk, the chance to explore the archives or to visit the new Window Shopping Exhibition.
The afternoon session will focus on oral histories, including some Aberdeen-based speakers and workshops on how to record and store memories. This could be invaluable to anyone thinking of starting an oral history project – or dealing with the material they have already generated.
