The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society invites branches and affiliated groups to enter this new virtual competition from anywhere in the world! Get a group of dancers together and perform a unique dance based on the theme (you guessed it!) ‘Around the World’. Your routine must be mostly made up of Scottish Country Dance steps and formations, but give it some exotic flair!  Like the dances, surroundings and costumes should reflect and enhance the theme – get inspired to do something a little different.

So, how do you enter your dance to the competition?  RSCDS is asking for videos of the final piece to be submitted to them (physically or digitally) by Friday 5th October 2018.  Don’t worry about your filming skills, as this will not be part of the judging criteria.  The video must be clear, with good audio – think about using a camera on a tripod or a high quality smart phone with an extremely steady hand!  Videos are not to be edited, except for purposes of reducing the file size and length (no more than 6 minutes long).

The videos will be judged by 3 judges (watch this space) on Saturday 27th October 2018 and we’ll also pop all the videos onto our YouTube channel for everyone to enjoy.  The winners will be announced during our AGM & Conference Weekend on Saturday 3rd November 2018.
