The third week of Edinburgh Festival Fringe brought lots of good news for Celeste’s Circus, which got ★★★★ reviews from Fest Magazine, NetMums and Edinburgh Festival for Kids and was named runner-up in the Primary Times Children’s Choice Award!
Anatomy of the Piano (for Beginners) has also been getting some fab responses from audiences…
…as has Leaf By Niggle, which gained a ★★★★ review from Broadway Baby last week: “Leaf by Niggle is a show that’s sure to creep up on you and, much like the protagonist, you’ll see that it’s a little hidden gem.”
Broadway Baby also gave ★★★★ to Loud Poets, whose inspiring show has made them a must-see of the spoken word programme:“The Loud Poets belong in the Scottish Storytelling Centre – their act fits the ethos of the place, they are outspoken, humane, and skilful.”
★★★★ went to Cradle King from All Edinburgh Theatre, who said: “Thomson’s performance is something of a tour de force […] a rounded, sympathetic and beautifully acted portrayal.” This edfringe.com customer agreed:
TVBomb gave the Moira Monologues ★★★★, saying: “This is a funny, feisty, fiery 60 minutes that’s utterly convincing.” The praise has also been pouring in on twitter, though Moira was peeved to see some of it is going to creator Alan Bissett:
Robert Burns: Rough Cut continues to delight Burns fans, while O is for Hoolet has been providing much food for thought for linguists, language lovers and anyone with a curiosity for Scots:
