Book Anna Lehr
Anna Lehr specialises in telling stories by the Brothers Grimm. Having grown up in Germany, she listened to these stories throughout her childhood and, fascinated by their sinister yet romantic atmosphere, is keen to share them with a wider audience. After working as an actress for over ten years, Anna graduated with a degree in History of Art and English Literature and has been working in museum education ever since, using storytelling to entertain and edify.
Anna is an expert in performance-based, interactive and educational storytelling, and as part of the storytelling company, Louna Productions, brings long-forgotten stories to all audiences. She also has vast experience working with early years, special needs and sensory impairment groups, and people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Apart from narrating German fairy tales in both German and English, Anna has also accumulated a wealth of stories from other cultures, including aboriginal dream time stories, Maori creation myths and religious stories from various faiths. Using songs, nursery rhymes and often movement, Anna has told stories for Glasgow Museums, House of Holyrood Palace, the Goethe Institute, the University of Glasgow and Cumbernauld College, as well as putting on storytelling shows on a regular basis in theatres, festivals and venues across the country. Anna is familiar with the Curriculum for Excellence and has developed and delivered numerous storytelling sessions and workshops for audiences of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
