Niall Moorjani is a non-binary, neurodiverse, Scottish-Indian writer and storyteller based in Edinburgh. They write for both children and adults, but at the core of all their work are themes of hope, joy and kindness. Niall has performed all over the world from New York to Delhi.

As an adult storyteller Niall has created multiple shows which have won great acclaim. ‘Mohan: A Partition Story’ and ‘A Fairie Tale’ have both received multiple five star reviews and enjoyed successful UK tours. They have performed at Festivals all over the world including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Kathakar International Storytelling Festival (Delhi), Brighton Fringe Festival and many more…

For children Niall created the original version of the Edinburgh Fringe 2023 smash hit sell out show ‘Grow’ and co-created the upscaled version with the Suitcase Storytelling Company for the Southbank Centre’s ‘Imagine Festival’. They also co-created the award winning ‘Girl And the Dragon’ (also with the Suitcase Storytelling Company) and have toured across multiple festivals as a children’s storyteller and writer, highlights include, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hay on Wye Festival and the Cheltenham book festival. Their work focuses on postcolonialism, queerness and nature, all with deep reverence for traditional Scottish and Indian Stories alongside original stories of their own.

Their debut picture book ‘Rajiv’s Starry Feelings’ was released in 2023 with Lantana.

 

Niall is based in Edinburgh but willing to travel anywhere in Scotland, subject to travel expenses.
