TradTalk Music: Practical Matters

TradTalk Extra: Music is the annual get together of the Traditional Music Forum. We come meet, we eat, we discuss and we play music.  

This years event takes place on Sunday 27 November from 12-6pm at The Tolbooth in Stirling.

The theme for our day is Practical Matters.Our members will be sharing their experiences on

  • Developing Audiences: Dougal Perman (Inner Ear( will be sharing developments in Social Media, Duncan Macinnes (SEALL) will be sharing experiences of promoting concerts & getting people through the door and Ellie Logan (TMF) will be sharing ideas on ensuring activities are inclusive and open to all.
  • New approaches to Funding: Seán Gray (Paul McKenna Band), Fiona Dalgetty (Fèis Rois), Mairi Campbell (Greengold Projects) and Judith Walsh (Remembered/ Imagined) will be sharing experiences of different ways of raising funds from crown funding to individual giving to developing corporate partners. 
  • Getting Music Heard:  Martin Hadden (Birnam CD) will be sharing ideas of a co-operative approach to getting  music heard. Other speakers to be confirmed.

We will also have the TMF AGM and will round off the day by playing some music. So bring an instrument or a song to share.
