Our combined Spring Workshop Programme offers practical, hands-on activities in traditional crafts, dance, music, storytelling and Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), delivered both online and in person.
Led by experienced traditional arts practitioners, these sessions focus on skills, knowledge and active participation, giving participants a clear understanding of cultural practices and how they are learned and shared today.
This programme features a rich range of workshops from the Scottish Storytelling Forum, the Traditional Music Forum, and TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland) taking place at the Scottish Storytelling Centre (SSC), online and across in venues Scotland.
The Scottish Storytelling Forum brings together skills development for established storytellers alongside the return of its ever-popular Starting with Stories sessions for those new to the craft. The Traditional Music Forum delivers its highly sought-after practical support sessions for freelance musicians across Scotland, as well as repertoire-building workshops focused on Gaelic and Scots song, right in the heart of Edinburgh. Building on the work around Intangible Cultural Heritage (or Living Heritage), TRACS showcases the traditional arts as a whole through a lively programme of introductory talks, interactive drop-in sessions, and hands-on come and try workshops.
