Youth Engagement Project – Scots Fiddle Festival 2021

Calling all young fiddlers! This is your chance to open the Saturday night concert of the Scots Fiddle Festival 2021.

Fiddlers/violinists aged 12-18* are encouraged to apply to be part of the Scots Fiddle Festival Youth Engagement Project (YEP) and perform at the Pleasance, Edinburgh, opening the concert on Saturday 20th November.

This year’s YEP tutor is Orcadian Graham Rorie, finalist in the 2021 BBC Radio Scotland Traditional Musician of the Year.

All workshops and performances will take place in Edinburgh. Participants may come from any part of Scotland as long as they can attend all workshop and performance dates.

Auditions ‐ Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th October via Zoom

YEP Workshop dates (all full days):
16th & 17th October
6th & 7th November

YEP Performance date:
20th November – rehearsals during the day (time tbc) and concert from 7.30pm
