Dance Base & Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland Residency Call Out

This week-long residency provides artists with an opportunity to undertake creative exploration rooted in, or influenced by, traditional Scottish dance and culture.

Dance Base and the Traditional Dance Forum have come together on this because we know traditional artists interested in exploring their creative practice, and vice versa, contemporary artists enthused to explore Scottish tradition. We believe tradition is an ever-changing and evolving thing and these residencies aim to help make this evolution happen.

Residencies will be held at Dance Base during between September 10 and December 4 2018, in studio 4. Residencies will be Monday – Friday, 9.00-17.00 daily. The selected artist(s) will hold an open company class on Tuesday from 10.00-11.30 and on Friday at 16.00 hold an opening sharing for the local community in order to continue to develop an audience and understanding in traditional Scottish performance practice.

There is a fee of £600.
